Project C, Journal Entry 2

Since last week I don't have much to present. I tried to start making the game. But I don't really know what is wrong with me.

I tried to start, but I struggled with the simplest things. It took entirelly too much time to even get a background in the background. I haven't really done anything like this before, I have never made a game fully from scratch, so I am very confused and overwhelmed by this. I tried to google some how-to's, but nothing worked, nothing made sense. I tried to make tilemap, but weirdly it didn't do anything that it was supposed to, it was just so random (I gained an impression that it craves human sacrifice to work).

Yesterday I tried to consult my project (I didn't manage it earlier, because every time I tried to do something, I failed and I felt panicked every time I tried to ask for help). Thanks to my teacher I got my hands on first tutorial that made difference, Also I restarted the whole project, because at first I started as a 3D Game (my thought process was that it was like that in previous projects?), but it worked better with 2D project (maybe this was what helped?).

So I restarted the whole project and since yesterday I prepared (for now non-functioning) tutorial for the game. It doesn't work now, but it is a draft to try stuff that appears in the game. I painted some tiles for player to try to jump in tutorial, I put there moving platforms, I added icon for tutorial minigame (I still didn't drop the idea of making minigames completelly) that transports you to different scene with minigame). This tutorial will be overwiew with basics.

More in following updates, I hope I will get to something playable. Till next week I will try to make the bunny jump and moving platforms move, as well as I will paint some more "stairs" to the game. Wish me luck.
